Mountains

Mountains The entire west coast line of Ironvale juts up into enormous peaks of stone. Clouds mass at the highest peaks, dumping snow and sending showers into the lower elevations. Rockfalls happen often, so be extremely careful where you travel. This is a place where only the brave travel, and only the strongest survive.

Foothills

Foothills Sprawling from the base of the mountains to the land below are the foothills. This rolling land is steep, and full of dangers, but rich in foods. Many streams and waterfalls rush down from the mountains on their journey to the great river. Caves are abundant, making this place perfect for animals that call them home.

White Beach

White Beach At the southern most tip of Ironvale stretches this white sand beach. It it's pristine sands bleached by sun and open sky. The beach stretches for miles, but sits barren and empty. There is no shelter, food, or drinkable water for a very long way. Those who wonder here are in danger of starving or dying of dehydration. Even fish avoid the shallow coastal waters.

Barrens

Barrens To the south, where the mountains block the rain, sits the barrens. A land of dry and dusty hills. The climate is temperate, but the lack of shade and water can become overwhelming for some. Very little grows here. The things that do are tough, and must be the animals that dwell here.

Grasslands

Grasslands A wide expanse of gently rolling hills and wide open spaces. The grasslands are a treasure to all. Lush with sweet grass and wildflowers, it is the perfect grazing location. Small rivulets wind their way around the hills, washing in from the great river.

The Great River

The Great River The great river spans across Ironvale like a huge crack, slicing the landscape in two. The water is a vibrant teal blue, and provides much of the land with fresh water. It is fed by constant mountain storms, so the water always has a chill, even at the southern most point.

Pine Marshes No posts have been made on this board.

Pine Marshes Water pools in this low laying area, making the perfect marsh land. Pines grow on the raised areas, providing plenty of shelter and hiding areas. Mist from the water rises every morning and evening, giving the land a shroud of white, and making it difficult to see during those times.

Redwoods Central to Ironvale is a huge expanse of redwood forest. Massive trees tower over the landscape, their immense branches shading the landscape below. Mosses and ferns carpet a forest floor spattered with fallen sequoia needles, boulders, and small streams that run off of the great river.

Shadow Forest

Shadow Forest Truly a wonder to behold. This forest has become so gnarled and tangled that even the fog has trouble escaping. The tree canopy blocks most of the light from reaching the forest's rocky floor, allowing for an overgrowth of lush mosses, grasses, and ferns. Many find this place both beautiful, and haunting.

The Drop Rolling hills rise to a sudden sheer ledge that overlooks the choppy eastern sea. The edges are unstable, and sometimes large sections of stone sheer from the cliff side, tumbling into the water hundreds of feet below. Watch your step.

High Forest

High Forest The land starts to lift to the north, the trees thinning and becoming spindly alpine pines. The ground covered in grass thins to lichen the further north you go. Cold wind sweeps down from the frostlands, whistling through the trees.

Frostlands The farthest northern point of Ironvale. The landscape here is cold and harsh, dusted with frost even during the summer months. Winter is icy and snow blows in on bitter winds. Lichen grows thick on the ground, impervious to the cold. The boulders that litter this place provide little shelter, but caves can be found if one knows where to look.

Stone Coast

Stone Coast Stretching along most of the north eastern side of Ironvale is a stone coast. The shoreline is made of worn rocks, boulders, and jagged spires that pierce the water and reach towards the sky. Icy winds sweep down from the north, bringing in rough water and storms.
